Effective April 28, 2025, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will transfer all traffic and non-traffic infraction arraignments and trials currently held at the Chatsworth Courthouse, located at 9425 Penfield Avenue, to the San Fernando Courthouse, located at 900 Third Street, San Fernando.

Key Details:

1. Courtroom Appearances

  • All courtroom appearances scheduled on and after April 28 for traffic and non-traffic infractions at the Chatsworth Courthouse, including arraignments and trials, will now take place in Department M at the San Fernando Courthouse.
  • Affected litigants will receive a notice by U.S. mail informing them that their matter will be moved to the San Fernando Courthouse. The original hearing date and time will remain the same. The Court’s online system will also reflect the new location.
  • Litigants who wish to appear before a judicial officer for traffic and non-traffic infractions at the Chatsworth Courthouse are referred to the San Fernando Courthouse.

2. Remote Appearances

  • Remote appearances via LACourtConnect are available for certain arraignments and trials, with the following exceptions:
    • If litigants have documents or other evidence, such as photos or videos, to present during trial.
    • If the defendant’s identity is in question.
  • Remote appearances for red-light camera infraction proceedings are permitted for arraignments only.

3. Clerk’s Office Service

  • The Chatsworth Courthouse Clerk’s Office will remain open for all traffic and non-traffic infraction-related services, except for appearances before a judicial officer.

  • Calling the Traffic Call Center at 213-633-6300 to obtain information about their citation or to schedule arraignments.
  • Visiting the Traffic Division webpage for online service options, including the ability to look up citations by Driver’s License or Citation Number.
  • Using the Court’s Ability to Pay tool to request a reduced or modified payment plan.
