LASC: ACCESSING THE SUPERIOR COURT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY DURING LOS ANGELES COUNTY WILDFIRES

To meet the Court’s constitutional duty to provide access to justice to Los Angeles County residents, all 36 courthouse locations across Los Angeles County remain open for business and all court proceedings are occurring as scheduled. The Court is closely monitoring existing and emerging fire threats around its courthouses and will communicate any further courthouse closures via Public Notice, its website (www.LACourt.org), X (@LASuperiorCourt), and Instagram/Threads (@LASuperiorCourt).

Court users impacted by the wildfires should consider the following information:

Jury Duty

Residents who have been summoned for jury duty and who have been impacted by the wildfires may call the Court’s Jury Services Division at 213-972-0970 to request a postponement, transfer, or excusal from their jury service. Telephone representatives are available to assist Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Court users with a juror identification number and personal identification number may also contact the Court electronically by visiting the My Jury Duty Portal at www.lacourt.org/jury.

Each request will be evaluated individually.

Remote Appearances

Remote appearances via LACourtConnect remain available for attorneys and litigants wishing to appear remotely in Civil (including Unlawful Detainer (eviction) and Small Claims), Family Law, Probate or Traffic cases.
