PROBATE, CIVIL, FAMILY LAW, AND TRAFFIC USERS: TEMPORARY CHANGE IN LACOURTCONNECT REGISTRATION WINDOW BEGINNING SOON
Effective November 20, the registration window to appear remotely through LACourtConnect (LACC) in probate, civil (including small claims and unlawful detainer cases), family law and traffic matters will temporarily change from 30 to 14 days in advance of the hearing as the Court prepares to roll out enhancements and new features to LACC for probate in December and for civil, family law and traffic in early 2023.
The registration window will resume up to 30 days before the hearing date after the enhancements are complete. At that time, users can expect to see a more modern interface and controls, with smoother transitions when moving from the virtual gallery to the virtual well.
LACC continues to offer users the convenience of appearing remotely for their hearings and includes features such as a “Virtual Gallery” where attorneys can:
- Review their upcoming remote hearing information for that day as well as in the future;
- Test their audio and video equipment;
- View court announcements;
- Chat with others in the Virtual Gallery via text, audio and video; and
- Monitor the courtroom while waiting for hearings to be called.
More detailed information, including user tips and training guides, will be provided in a subsequent notice.
