SUPERIOR COURT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY’S DRESS CODE POLICY REQUIRING APPROPRIATE BUSINESS ATTIRE RESUMES
The Court’s policy requiring attorneys appearing in court and remotely to wear appropriate business attire is once again in effect.
The Court’s relaxed dress code policy, first instituted in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was operative concurrently with the COVID-19 State of Emergency. Given the COVID-19 State of Emergency in California ended earlier this year, the policy allowing “relaxed business attire in courtrooms and while appearing remotely” is no longer in effect.
The reinstituted formal dress code policy is consistent with Los Angeles Superior Court Local Rule 3.43, which states, in pertinent part, “attorneys appearing in court in person or by remote video should be dressed in accordance with current customs for appropriate business attire.”
