LASC: SYLMAR JUVENILE COURTHOUSE TO DELAY OPENING UNTIL 1:30 P.M. ON FEB. 27 DUE TO SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE

The Sylmar Juvenile Courthouse, located at 16350 Filbert St., Sylmar, will open at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, due to a scheduled power outage for required utility maintenance by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power impacting the immediate neighborhood. The outage is expected to occur from midnight to noon on Feb. 27, delaying the start of courthouse operations on Feb. 27.

Planned Adjustments for Feb. 27:

• Morning matters scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Sylmar Juvenile Courthouse will now be heard at 1:30 p.m.
• Court users requesting walk-in services on Thursday, Feb. 27 are instructed to report to the Sylmar Juvenile Courthouse at 1:30 p.m.
• Detained cases originally brought before the Sylmar Juvenile Courthouse on Thursday, Feb. 27 will be heard at the East Los Angeles Courthouse, located at 4848 E. Civic Center Way, Los Angeles.

Parties and counsel with scheduled hearings for Thursday, Feb. 27 will be notified of any changes. Instructions will be provided regarding where to report, and remote appearances remain an option where applicable.

The Sylmar Juvenile Courthouse is expected to resume regular operating hours (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.
